**Panel**: Orientation

**Subject**: Board scope

**Revised**: 17 August 2026

This board is a reading index about games of chance: how their odds are counted, where their commercial forms came from, how the games themselves are put together, and how the rules governing them accumulated. It is written for people who want to understand the subject rather than to take part in it.

Every figure quoted anywhere on the board is arithmetic worked in the text from the stated rules of the game being discussed. Nothing here is a claim about any operator, product or market, and no game, venue or service is named, rated, compared or recommended. Where a calculation appears, the working is shown so it can be checked rather than taken on trust.

Entries are grouped by subject rather than by date. The four category tables below list what is on the board; the index beneath them lists the individual entries with the subject tag that describes what kind of writing each one is.
